My sister recently turned 18 and I am so proud of everything she has achieved in life so far (she´s still my little baby sister though). I really wanted to gift her something memorable and made her a slideshow of her life so far. It was so much fun but it also meant I had to look through a bunch of old video clips and pictures of her and me. Oh my, was I an asshole as a kid and such an awkward teenager. I then started looking back through old posts on this blog and I did quite a few tags at the beginning which are cringy interesting to read. To embarrass myself even more (because that´s what this blog is for) I´m now sharing those old tags with you.

20 Random Facts About Me (12/2014)

1. Not doing physical exercise makes me depressiv. Hahaha, I haven´t done any exercise in a about a year & I´m not depressive yet. But it´s true that I usually love exercising.

2. I always say I am going to eat healthy but then something delicious comes my way and it´s over. Yep, that´s still true.

3. I don´t wash my hands as often as others. Completely wrong now. I wash my hands quite regularly now. Also why would I ever put something like this on the internet?

4. If I have done something wrong, I´ll pretend it wasn´t me until everyone believes me. Another thing I got better at. I finally can accept and admit that sometimes I´m not perfect.

5. I always say I´m going to stop nibbling but I actually have never done it. Still true but I learned that this might actually be a mental disorder of mine.

6. Doing the dishes and cleaning my room have become two of the most relaxing activities for me. Yes but also no. Both are still very relaxing but I still don´t like doing them.

7. I like the attention of people. Still true.

8. When there´s too many things to do, I can´t think straight and won´t get anything done. So true! It´s a thing I´ve recently talked about in my Theories of Time Management and writing to do lists has helped me immensely.

9. I am way too motivated when it comes to studying. Yup, I´m very ambitious and disciplined when it comes to studying.

10. When I enter my clean room, it´s like a bomb explosion. Haha yes, I´m not good at keeping my room clean. I will destroy a clean room within 12 hours.

11. Catching up on TV shows actually feels like I am getting something done. I don´t get stressed anymore when I´m not caught up but I do really, really enjoy catching up.

12. I basically want to own every picture that exists in the universe. Uhh, no not anymore. I´m happy with keeping the good pictures, thank you.

13. If I am stressed in a situation or too many things go the wrong way, it´s like all my anger wants to get out at once. Nope, that has definitely changed. I still don´t enjoy those situations but I can keep my anger to myself now.

14. I can´t forget random things I say if they trigger a negative reaction with others. I still have those nights worrying and cringing about what I said.

15. I always feel like the worst friend in the world and try to make up for it with sweet gifts. Still true  but I figured out that it´s because I seriously lack in the department of social skills and gifts are my way of expressing my love for someone.

16. I neither like to text nor to call people. Yep, still true. Although calling has become a lot easier.

17. I compare myself to everyone around me. Not anymore! I´m feeling confident in myself and while aI still look at others I don´t feel miserable afterwards anymore.

18. I get embarrassed even if the situation isn´t that embarrassing at all. Still true.

19. I talk too much. uhh, yup. But that´s also related to my lack of social skills

20. My jokes are never funny. Generally true but I do make a good joke from time to time.

The Me Time Tag (01/15)

1. What do you watch or read during me-time?
A wide range from trash tv to fabulous movies. Right now it´s mostly romantic comedies I´ve already seen or Gilmore Girls, basically things that make me feel like coming home

2. What do you wear during me-time?
PJs & my fluffy dressing gown on top. Yup, although that is my go-to outfit whenever I don´t have to go out of the house.

3. What are your me-time beauty products?
Only on rare occasion I like to use a good face mask. I´ve begun to really love face masks and also other skincare and shower treats. A sweet scented shower gel like The Comforter from Lush is wonderful!

4. Current favorite nail polish?
I love the P2 Total Repair Coat. I still like that nail polish although my favourite brand of nail polish are the Manhattan Last & Shine Nail Polishes. Almost nothing compares to their lasting power.

5. What do you eat or drink during me-time?
My all-time favorite snacks are Milka Oreo Chocolate, Skittles and balsamic vinegar crisps. Uhh, since I am now dairy intolerant this has changed slightly. I still love normal oreos and I could eat Katjes Fred Ferkel and marshmallows every day.

6. Current favorite candle?
Scented candles always give me a headache, so I only buy them to look nice or to sniff on them but I never actually light them. Yup, that still fits 100%. I did stop buying them though as I see no point in it.

7. Do you ever have outdoor me-time?
In summer I like to go inline skating which is kind of my me-time. I haven´t gone inline skating in years. I do enjoy a good walk with a podcast on or my camera at hand now though.

8. Would you ever go see a movie alone?
Of course. That´s still true. I do enjoy company whenever I go to the movies but I wouldn´t hesitate to go alone.

9. Favorite online shop?
I am not a big online shopper, and for what I need Amazon is amazing. I now thoroughly enjoy online shopping. My favourite shop is probably Asos but I do love Boohoo and Topshop as well!

10. Anything to add? What else do you do during me-time?
Sometimes I like to clean my room or the whole apartment during me-time. I still do that because I know that a clean environment will really help my mental health.

Okay, this wasn´t as bad as I thought it was going to be. Surprisingly, not all of my answers changed drastically. To be fair though, these were the latest tags I could find. I´m sure if I go back even further there are some more embarrassing ones out there. The thing I did notice is that I now can explain why I do some weird things. It´s not that my behavior has changed but I´ve gotten to know myself more and therefore can see why I do what I do. I think that´s something that comes with growing up and it´s amazing. This has also helped me accept and love myself which in general helps a lot!

I find this concept very interesting in comparing or finding explanations to your replies between not-so distant past replies and today ; I love the humour and the fact this project brought you closer to understand yourself as you grow and mature - necessary and natural part of one's time on this planet.

    As to answer : in the past 2 years, yes I have changed, tremendously so, in both directions. Part of me struggles to no end ; I've suffered a meltdown, burn-out kind of midlife crisis, with the explosion of all my mental illnesses, right in my face.
    I don't understand certain aspects of the changes in me.

    On the other hand, I can understand and explain other parts ; how this all happened. I strive to make the necessary changes to improve and build upon the progress I've made with just 9 months of on-going CBT.

      Yes, I´m feeling very similarly. On the one hand I´ve grown so much as a person and on the other I´ve got pretty bad anxiety disorders since then. It´s a two-sided sword for sure!

  2. Such a great idea, I love the idea of comparing answers!! Your answers and reflections are great haha- I was cracking up about owning all the pictures in the universe and the washing hands bit! I'm still essentially the same person but 2 years can do a lot to someone or there's so much to learn. Heck even from 6 months ago I feel different in a sense! My favorite me time snack would be chocolate and chips but I kinda gave em up to be healthier!! I loved this- made me smile (and laugh) lol.
