At the start of the year I said that I didn´t want to have any resolutions. My goal is rather looking back on 2017 and being happy about it in general (especially since 2016 was such a crappy year for me!). So when I was introduced to the NRS Healthcare #StayHappy2017 campaign it seemed like a perfect fit. Inspired by their suggestions I´ve set myself a little challenge of 10 things that are going to help me be more positive this year.

The #StayHappy2017 campaign wants to encourage people to work on their wellbeing and be proactive in creating a positive environment. It´s all about what YOU can do to make your life more positive. Therefore they have created 16 suggestions of how you can achieve this. It´s a follow up from their 2016 #BeSelfless campaign which you might have seen around. Even though the NRS Healthcare´s target audience is usually elderly or people with disabilities this campaign is for everyone. Everyone can work towards their own happiness! My 10 little challenges are inspired by their suggestion cards (which are free to download) and feature a range of different activities that will help me create a more positive year. They are focused a lot around my anxiety and the things I love.

     1. Go on new adventures (aka confront myself with my fears)
     2. Take up dancing & fitness again
     3. Continue blogging all throughout 2017
     4. Read at least 20 books
     5. Explore the cities in which I live more
     6. Improve my social skills & spent more time with friends
     7. Get back on the healthy eating train
     8. Stop waiting for others to make the first move
     9. Try out Yoga (for mindfulness & low-intensity exercise)
     10. Spent more time outside, no matter the weather

I´m super excited to push myself out of my comfort zone and become more proactive towards my own happiness. I think in 2016 letting my mood be defined by others/chance was a big thing for me. In the past two months though I´ve already felt more confident and proud of what I´ve been doing. Even though I´ve had bad days I still have a very positive outlook on life and this year as I know I´m able to push myself. I know I´m definitely going to focus a lot on the first challenge as I really want to tackle my anxiety this year. I hope that that´s already going to make a big improvement.

If you´re like me and feel like your happiness is mostly determined by others just get up and set yourself a little challenge. You could have a look at the suggestion cards or take a few things from my challenges. It´s all up to you and what you feel like you can do. The most important thing though is to share this campaign with others. Not only our own happiness is important but to spread the message and empower others to do the same!

Is there something that would make 2017 amazing for you? How has it been treating you so far?

  1. I love this post! I'm really trying to up my self-care this year, so being more positive is definitely up there. I'm really intrigued by Yoga, so I think I'm going to give it a try x

    1. Thank you so much! I´ve now started doing Yoga and it can really, really help some days! I´m not sure I´ll be a full blown Yoga lover any time soon but it´s nice for a bit of self-care!

  2. This post is so interesting and inspiring! Have you got round to trying yoga yet? I've done it for a year now and its honestly one of the best things in my life. I have noticed such a difference in the way I handle stress and in my general life outlook, not to mention how far I've physically improved in postures. Good luck with it all! xx

    1. Thank you so much! I actually have. I really, really like the soft stretch routines for a relaxing start or end to my day. They make me feel so incredible! I´m not sure on the strength and energizing routines yet though, they don´t seem to be fully up my street. After just about two weeks I´ve already seen improvement in my postures, it´s amazing!
