Christmas Market Wonders: Bonn

Decorations Found Around the Christmas Market Bonn
You all know how excited I get about Christmas Markets, especially now that I live in bigger cities than my hometown and Christmas Markets last for over a month! I might definitely visit my local Christmas Market too often during that time. I do kind of miss my old local Christmas market in Ulm as it was just so damn cute but my new local Christmas Market in the town centre of Bonn is definitely mending my wounds!

This is now my fourth year in a row sharing the beauty of German Christmas Markets with you and I really thought I´d seen most of them. However, the Christmas Market in Bonn is something different still: I've never seen such crazy decorations and there's a tiny ferris wheel - how cool is that?! I do have to mention though that after 3 years I've finally gotten sick of photographing the insides of the little huts. They are mostly the same everywhere anyway - and Bonn is certainly no exception.

However, the outside of the huts and overall decorations 100% make up for the lack of interesting products! They are so amazing and I feel like everyone has gone all out on their decorations. It´s fairy lights and kitsch galore! One food stand even has moving and talking moose heads on the top. They are kind of scary at first but really amazing! For me, the decorations definitely are the best thing about a Christmas market - they can make or break the atmosphere and in this case they absolutely make it amazing! Another food stand has the spinning top of a carousel as it´s roof - I almost couldn't believe it at first but I'm so in love with it!

The town centre of Bonn is very contorted and the Christmas Market has perfectly adapted to this. There are two bigger market places on which there is a gathering of little huts. The way from one market place to the other is lined with huts as well which is so perfect because you're basically guided through the city with the Christmas Market! There's the smell and atmosphere of Christmas everywhere! All the other streets also have decorations hanging over them so that you get the spirit of Christmas even as you leave the usual Christmas Market route.

I definitely have to admit that I only fell in love with this Christmas Market when I had a closer look. At first it seemed a little bit too common and unorganised as the huts are not really coordinated and everyone does their thing with their decorations. But once I looked closely at the individual decorations I fell in love as they are so stunning! I'm so happy this is my local Christmas market - even if it might not take the place of my favourite Christmas Market. I have absolutely loved walking through and exploring more of this Christmas Market over the past weeks. I just fell more and more in love with it and it´s crazy amazing decorations!
