Quick & Easy Vegan Dips

Tomato & Garlic Dip; Guacamole; Vegan Sour Cream; Vegan Chocolate Dip; Bread
Since switching to a dairy-free diet there´s not much that I really miss when it comes to food. Of course, it´s difficult seeing my friends eat pizza with lots of cheese but in general, I´m good living without dairy - besides the fact that it means not fighting my stomach as much. Theres one thing though that always bothers me: There are so little options when it comes to dips without dairy! So for the past few months I´ve been experimenting with different recipes and have found 4 super delicious yet super easy vegan dips that will serve you for any occasion.

Especially in summer dips are always great for having barbecues or just a quick and light lunch. I often bring these dips to girls night and they´re always a hit! Each dip takes around 15 minutes to make which is super quick. They do get a slightly better taste if they´ve sat in your fridge for at least an hour before serving but it´s not necessary. Of course you can vary with the ingredients a bit. My group of friends likes garlic a lot so these are garlic-heavy but you can just take less garlic to get a milder taste.

Guacamole (Variation)

Guacamole

Ingredients:
1 avocado
1/2 lime
1/2 shallot
1 clove of garlic
1/2 tsp mild mustard
chopped up tomatoes
olive oil
salt/pepper/chili

1. Chop and mash up your avocado. Safe the core.
2. Chop up the shallot and the garlic as tiny as possible. Chop as many tomatoes as you like in your preferred size. Add all of it to the avocado and mix.
3. Now add mustard, the juice of the lime and a sip of olive oil and mix again.
4. Season with salt, pepper and maybe a bit of chili.
5. If you want to chill it before serving add the core to it to preserve the colour.

Tomato and Garlic Dip

Tomato and Garlic Dip

Ingredients:
150g tomatoes
1 shallot
1 clove of garlic
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp herb vinegar
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
2 tbsp sieved tomatoes
1/2 lime
salt/pepper/chili
cilantro

1. Chop up your tomatoes, shallot and garlic and set them in a bowl.
2. Add the fluids (oil, herb & balsamic vinegar, sieved tomatoes, lime juice) and mix.
3. Season with salt, pepper and maybe a bit of chili. Add cilantro as a decorative right before serving.

Vegan Sour Cream

Vegan Sour Cream

Ingredients:
150g Creme Vega (Dr. Oetker)
50g soy yogurt
1 clove of garlic
1.5 shallots
1 tbsp herb vinegar
1/2 lime
1 tbsp mayonnaise
2.5 tsp chives
1.5 tsp dill
salt/pepper/sugar

1. Mix together Creme Vega and soy yogurt.
2. Add chopped up garlic and shallot and mix thoroughly.
3. Add herb vinegar and the juice of half a lime as well as mayonnaise and mix again.
4. Add in your herbs and season with salt, pepper and sugar to your liking.

Chocolate Dip

Vegan Chocolate Dip

Ingredients:
200ml water
3 tbsp cocoa powder
25g sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
100g dark chocolate
20g powdered sugar (+ some extra)
2 tsp honey
1 tsp vanilla extract

1. Boil water in a pan. Add cocoa powder, sugar and cinnamon and mix until everything is dissolved. Set aside to cool a little bit.
2. Melt chocolate.
3. Add cocoa water to melted chocolate little by litte (about 4 tbsp at a time) and mix thoroughly. Leave no clumps. If there are any, heat the mixture in the microwave before adding the next cocoa water.
4. Add powdered sugar, honey and vanilla extract and stir. Add in more powdered sugar if it´s still too fluid.
5. Set in the fridge to completely cool. This will also allow the mixture to harden a bit. If it´s too hard, just heat it up again.

Personally, I´m a big fan of dips especially in summer. They are just so easy to make because it´s basically just chopping a bunch of things up and then mixing everything together. Who could resist such an easy food? I especially love the Vegan Sour Cream as it tastes exactly like the Sour Cream & Onion Pringles - which, who would´ve guessed it, I also absolutely love. In my friend group these dips are always a hit and not one has complained that they are vegan instead of "normal". I take that as a very good thing!

What´s your favourite dip?
