7 Holy Grail Beauty Products

Maybelline Eye Makeup Remover, Balea Rich Day Creme, Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, Essie Nail Polish, Maybelline The Rocket Volum Express mascara, urban Decay Vice Lipstick, Kylie Liquid Lipstick on Autumnal leaves
As many other bloggers I love nothing more than trying out a new beauty product. I´ve talked recently about how my spending got a bit out of hand and why I´m going on a Beauty Spending Ban. I´ts honestly gotten ridiculous at times. Generally being in the bloggerverse doesn´t make things easier as I´m easily tempted by other bloggers. Raise your hand if you´re way too easily tempted as well. However, there are a few products that I will always go back to no matter how many others I try. Those are my holy grail beauty products.

I believe the Maybelline Eye Makeup Remover Waterproof was one of my first makeup removers. I bought it back in my teens just because it sounded good and the bottle looked quite cool. I´ve tried a few others and even some Micellar waters but not other makeup remover does its job as good. It has never hurt my sensitive eyes and even my waterproof mascara is gone in a few wipes. I´ve lost track of how many bottles I´ve used up. Going along with skincare the Balea Rich Day Creme is the simplest moisturiser I own. It does nothing special but it also doesn´t make my skin break out. It gives quite a nice moisturized feeling to my skin. This is the one moisturiser I always go back to whenever my skin is having a bad week. I just know it´ll calm my skin.

Maybelline Eye Makup Remover, Essie Nail Polish, Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, Maybelline The Rocket Volum Express Mascara on Autumnal Leaves

The first concealer I ever spend more than 2€ on was the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer and I´m so happy I did. The shade 15 perfectly matches my skin and it does its job so well. It´s easily blended, doesn´t stick to dry patches and has a good medium coverage. It also lasts all day with only slight creasing. So far no other concealer has come close to it. My favourites seem very dominated by Maybelline as the Maybelline Master Shape Brow Pencil is one of them as well. This pencil makes filling in my eyebrows so easy. I have pretty good eyebrows as they are but this pencil just helps to enhance them a bit and make them stick to their place. It adds colour but not too much and I really like the slightly wax texture.

I own a lot of nail polishes, many of which I don´t actually use. One brand I always fall back on to is Essie. They just offer such a great selection of gorgeous shades and compared to other brands they last a long time on my nails. I´ve also fallen head over heals in love with their brush as it makes application so easy. The lighter shades might need a few coats more but the darker ones could even be worn with only one layer. Another nail polish love are the Manhattan Last and Shine Nail Polishes. Even though the colour selection is not as good as Essie´s they still have gorgeous ones in there. The brush is very similar to Essie´s and the lasting power is just amazing. They always last me a week before chipping off!

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick, Kylie Liquid Lipstick, Maybelline The Rocket Volum Express Mascara on Autumnal Leaves

I´m a lipstick addict as it is (they make up about 60% of my makeup collection) abut the Kylie Liquid Lipsticks make me want to spend all my money even more. I know there´s a whole debate on whether they´re worth their money but for me they so are! I´ve not had a matte liquid lipstick that suits me so well and really lasts all day. I had one on when I was getting a cold and even after 3 hours of blowing my nose it hadn´t smudged a bit. This is the lipstick that converted my lipstick-hating mom to trying out a few matte lipsticks herself. Another lipstick brand for me is Urban Decay. Who could say no to Urban Decay lipsticks. You already know you´re getting extraordinary quality. I´ve recently reviewed the Metallized and Comfortable Matte textures of their Vice lipsticks and they´re so amazing! I could happily just live with Urban Decay lipsticks for the rest of my life.

I´m sure people change and behaviors and therefore holy grails change over time. I do hope I´ve grown and that my makeup skills have grown with me. Still, many of these products were one of the first I tried out and so far I´ve rarely found any products that are superior to them. Also many of them are drugstore products so I don´t even have to spend a lot of money on my holy grails. Writing this post I also noticed how many of them are from Maybelline and therefore not cruelty-free. That makes me feel kind of bad so I definitely need to hunt down worthy alternatives for them.

Do you have any holy grail beauty products? Or do you have any cruelty-free alternatives for mine?

  2. I've heard such good things about the Maybelline Fit Me concealer but I've never bought it because I love the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer and I'm worried it won't be as good!

    1. Just try it ;) I absolutely love the Fit Me concealer as it has just the right consistency for my skin. What´s wrong with trying it even if you don´t like it in the end?

    1. The Kylie lip kits are my go-to lipsticks right now. I rarely wear anything else. Ugh, it´s so hard to choose a favourite shade of nail polish. It definitely depends on the season and my mood, haha.

  7. I really need to pick up some of the Urban Decay Vice lipsticks - they are just so stunning! I too am a huge fan of Essie and have accumulated quite the collection of their polishes over the years. They always do the trick!

    1. They are absolutely gorgeous! I adore them so much. Essie nail polishes where the first ones I spent a bit more money on and I absolutely love them. It´s such a shame that they´re not cruelty-free though!
