Beauty Spending Ban Update - 3 Months

Sleek Solstice Highliting Palette, Zoella WonderCream, Benefit Rollerlash Mascara, Urban Decay Vice Lipstick
Guess what, another two months of my beauty spending ban have just gone by. In my last update after one month I was talking about how fast it had gone by and how little I had struggled. Since then quite a few things have changed (e.g. I´ve made the decision to go cruelty-free). Has it stayed as easy for me not to buy any beauty products or have Christmas and the sales made it all worse?

#Girlproblems - The Struggle With Underwear

Lace Bralette and Lace Pantie from H&M, Catrice Eyeshadow, Catrice Highlighter, New Look Super Matte Liquid Lipstick, NYX Soft Matte Lipcream
Life as a girl isn´t easy. Life as a boy isn´t either and don´t even get me started on minorities. But I´m coming from the standpoint of a 20-year-old woman/girl so I thought I´d approach all the problems we girls experience in a little series called #Girlproblems. Today let´s talk underwear.

By this point I´m assuming you´re either letting out a deep sigh as you know all the problems I´m going to discuss here or you might be wondering "what even is the problem with our underwear?!". If you belong to the latter group, congratulations! I´m really jealous of you. You can still read this post and join us in our rants though (or tell us your secrets so that we don´t have to worry about these things anymore). To everyone who is part of the first group: Welcome, this post is for you!

Winter Lipstick Haul

Trend It Up Pure Serenity in 030, Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid, New Look Super Matte Liquid Lipstick in Dark Rose
How many nude matte lipsticks is it okay to own? I probably have more than I could ever use. Yet as a little Christmas gift to myself and despite my Beauty Spending Ban I allowed myself to buy a few more lipsticks. "Why?!" I hear you asking. Well, let´s just say that I thought I deserved a treat after two months of not buying makeup  and then my indecisiveness took over and I just had to have all of these. Oops! Let me introduce you to my new loves, five matte lipsticks which are perfect for winter.

How I´m Going Cruelty-Free

Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics, UMA First Date Mascara, Nuxe Body Oil, Catrice Metallic Eyeshadow, Primark utensils
I wrote a whole post about cruelty-free blogging a while back as I feel this topic is so important for me personally. Yet I never really did something about this. I was just sitting on my knowledge of this problem for all the time. To my defense, I was in kind of a catch 22 (who isn´t really); while I was really against animal testing I was also so in love with makeup and so many "bad" brands. With all the "How Cruel Is My Makeup Bag?" videos going around lately (especially the ones by Hannah Witton & Tessa Violet) I got kind of a bad conscience. So like them I´ve decided to take baby steps towards a more ethical makeup collection.

Does La La Land Deserve Its 7 Golden Globes? (no spoilers)

Glassexshop Glasses, Catrice Highlighter, Apple Headphones, Primark Brushes, NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams
La La Land has been described as the must-see film of the year ever since the first trailer came out. As if that hadn´t been predictive enough the film went on to win a record number of 7 Golden Globes! Also it´s a musical romance and writing here is the girl that can´t imagine how her life would´ve gone without High School Musical. So obviously I went to see it on the day it came out here in Germany. But is it really worth the hype and more importantly, all 7 Golden Globes?

Disclaimer: I´m not a film expert nor have I seen all the films it was up against. This is just my personal opinion as a film lover!

7 Holy Grail Beauty Products

Maybelline Eye Makeup Remover, Balea Rich Day Creme, Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, Essie Nail Polish, Maybelline The Rocket Volum Express mascara, urban Decay Vice Lipstick, Kylie Liquid Lipstick on Autumnal leaves
As many other bloggers I love nothing more than trying out a new beauty product. I´ve talked recently about how my spending got a bit out of hand and why I´m going on a Beauty Spending Ban. I´ts honestly gotten ridiculous at times. Generally being in the bloggerverse doesn´t make things easier as I´m easily tempted by other bloggers. Raise your hand if you´re way too easily tempted as well. However, there are a few products that I will always go back to no matter how many others I try. Those are my holy grail beauty products.

7 TV Shows to Binge in January

Netflix App on dusty pink background with glasses, Illamasque eyeshadow, Benefit Rollerlash, nude lipstick and Maxfactor Blush
Let´s be honest, January is a bitch! Statistics have shown that it´s actually the deadliest month of the year. August is the least deadliest so I´m very much looking forward to all the happiness then! But until then we´ll have to get through this. We definitely have also established that I´m a major fangirl (especially if you follow me on Twitter). You can bet I´m always watching some show on Netflix. And since January is such a downer I like to keep my binging on the happy side. So here are 7 happy tv shows that I could watch over and over again.

How To Do Research for a Killer Essay

Pen and Highlighter on top of research articles; Eating Disorders
Whether it´s in uni or at school students are bombarded with essays. While I had been spared with them in school, uni has definitely made up for it. Now that the new year has started, deadlines are coming closer and we´re all swearing that we´ll do it right this year. Honestly, I´m pretty confident in my essay skills. I do have to thank the best editor in the world, my mom, for making me sound really intelligent but the research is all down to me. So today I though I´d give my knowledge on to you and show you how you can do your best research ever.

Welcome 2017!

two sparklers at night
It´s the start of a new year and I have the biggest cold. What an irony! I'm definitely having trouble realising that it´s already 2017. You know, the whole writing "2016" for the next two months. Yet I am so glad that 2016 is finally over. As you might have read in my 2016 Reflection, the past year definitely was hard for me and I´m so looking forward to what 2017 has in store for me. There´s hopefully (Fingers crossed!) some great memories to be made! So I say the warmest welcome to 2017!
