Christmas Market Inspiration: Music

bauble decoration on Christmas market huts
In my opinion any good Christmas market has to have Christmas songs playing from speakers all day long. What better way is there to get everyone into the festive spirit?! Christmas music just makes me so happy. The songs are all easy to learn and sing along to and more often than not I get them stuck in my head all day. Also as I said, this is definitely the easiest way to get into the festive spirit. So I took to my trusty 3-year-old Christmas playlist that now features over 90 songs and I chose my 22 favourite songs. These songs should not be missing at any Christmas party!

I´m more a fan of all the happy Christmas songs. I just really like to dance around to Christmas music in my PJs, okay? Obviously any Christmas playlist cannot be without a bit of Micheal Bublé. I like his whole Christmas album but especially his songs featuring The Puppini Sisters. Even though these are classic songs with the bit of Jazz mixed in there they are a bit more special (and danceable). Overall I tried to get a good mixture of classic and extraordinary songs though! Obviously there are tons more Christmas songs out there, so feel free to leave me any suggestions in the comments!

One of my favourite Christmas songs of all time is definitely Merry Christmas Everyone by Shakin Stevens. This was played as the last song at a performance from my dance school when I was about 11. So this is probably the first grown-up Christmas song I remember consciously hearing. Also it´s just so special because of the memory of me on stage with my group and the audience smiling and clapping along. It just makes me incredibly happy every time I listen to it. I´m also quite proud to announce that I will be the DJ at our family Christmas celebration and I already know which playlist will be put on!

When do you think it´s too early to start listening to Christmas songs? What Christmas song do you listen to most every year?

    1. Thank you! I´ll admit I have listened to maybe one or two Christmas songs in September as well. It´s not way too early! I officially start listening though on the day after Halloween ;) I haven´t heard that song in the Darlene Love version yet, definitely going to check it out!

    1. Haha, yes Christmas music always cheers me up, especially the fun songs. I´m not all that big on the slow, sad songs (although they can be nice to listen to from time to time as well).
