Five Favourite Neutral Palettes

I´m very much of a neutral girl. Whether it´s fashion or make up, you´ll probably see me rocking a very neutral look (& maybe a bold lip). When it comes to eyeshadows I barely own any shades that don´t fall into the neutral spectrum. Because I have green eyes I feel like these shades really enhance my eyes. In all honestly, I´m also not brave enough to wear bolder make up looks. In general, I barely own any single eyeshadows; I´m a fan of palettes instead. They just come in handy for traveling, all the shades go together well and they are just pretty to look at.

I was very much excited when Sleek was added to the german drugstore ranges. I´ve been eyeing the i-Divine Palette in All Night Long for a while before I bought it. It offers the perfect mix of glittery and matte shades to create gorgeous looks all year around. The quality of the eyeshadows is great when it comes to lasting power and pigmentation. They are not the most blendable or soft eyeshadows I´ve seen but they are amazing value for money. My favourite shades are Manhattan, a gorgeous glittery copper shade, and Martini, a beautiful glittery champagne colour.

Going along with great value for money another favourite of mine is the W7 In the Buff Lightly Toasted palette. This is supposed to be a dupe for the UD Naked 3 Palette which I can´t really judge on as I don´t own the "original". I´ve posted a full review for this palette a while back. This might be my favourite palette out of all of these as it offers a great range of colours from really light rose shades to dark browns and even black and silver. This palette offers 12 well-pigmented, long-lasting and buttery soft shades. The quality differs a bit across the shades but even the bad ones are still good eyeshadows. All the shades are beautiful and allow for so many different day and night looks. I only wish it´d feature more matte shades.

The Catrice Absolute Rose was one of my first eyeshadow palettes. Since then this collection has been extended and Catrice offer a great range of palettes with 6 eyeshadows of one colour family.  I remember that the Catrice Absolute Nude was my first ever eyeshadow palette and I got so much use out of it in my teens. I think the Rose Palette is my favourite as it goes really well with my green eyes. The colour-payoff  for these eyeshadows could be better but with a good primer underneath they stay in place for the whole day and are easily blended. This is definitely a great palette to start out with as it´s super affordable and you can really experiment with the colours. I still use it from time to time if I want a really light but gorgeous look.

One of the newer additions to my collection is the Tanya Burr Eyeshadow Palette in Birthday Suite. I love Tanya´s Beauty range and this palette is no exception. Sometimes I find it really hard to decide what shades to go for out of a big palette. I love that this palette offers only four brown shades that work well together to create so many different looks. When it comes to quality these almost feel like high-end eyeshadows. I can blend them effortlessly, they last me all day and I only find slight creasing without a primer. The glitter shades also create very little fall out. If you just want to grab one palette and go, this is so perfect.

You can´t really talk about neutral eyeshadow without mentioning Urban Decay. I recently reviewed their new Naked Ultimate Basics Palette and I´m so in love. First off, the packaging is gorgeous and the magnetic lock mechanism has saved me a few fingernails. The 12 shades are all very gorgeous and perfect for the colder seasons. Almost all shades are matte which I absolutely love and only two are demi-matte (aka shimmery). Quality-wise there´s not much that you can criticize; these are amazingly pigmented, blend like a dream, feel buttery soft and will last all day without creasing. This would definitely be my go-to if you´re looking for a high-end neutral palette.

Honestly, these are all the palettes I reach for the most out of my ever-growing collection. I think they're all definitely worth their money and they all have great quality eyeshadows. Honestly, I should really stop buying neutral palettes yet I never can. Currently I´m really loving rose or violet eyeshadows and copper/rust shades. I think they´re so beautiful for autumn and can really make your makeup stand out.

What is your favourite neutral palette?

  1. I love copper/warm rust shades in autumn as well, it's not even autumn in Australia but reading all these fall related posts makes me want to wear those shades anyway!

    1. I don´t think copper shades are only for autumn. You can wear them all year around, they just scream a bit of autumn because of the colours outside. I´m glad I´m also tempting you to go full out on fall, haha.

    1. Thank you. I don´t even wear eyeliner most days. I´m way too lazy for my own good, haha. Yeah, it´s so hard to choose a favourite for me. I think it´s the W7 as I reach for it the most overall but I´m not completely sure either.

    1. W7 do some really nice palettes! I think most of their palettes are great dupes for the infamous Urban Decay Naked palettes.
Neutral colours are honestly all I wear (except for the occasional dark lip). They´re really easy to wear & almost never too bold for any look.

    1. haha. I do own a few single eyeshadows but really not that many. I just think that palettes look way prettier because of all the colour combinations on display. Yes, the UD Naked palettes are so great, I can only advise you to get one. I love the colours and the quality of this one.
