Cologne Photo Diary

I´ve spent the past eight weeks doing an internship in Cologne. "But why?" you might ask as Cologne is neither where I go to uni nor where my parents live. Well, that´s all a longer story but in very short: The only place that offered me the internship I need for my studies was the University of Cologne. Honestly, I´m so happy nobody else wanted me! I´ve had an amazing time, always felt really welcome and appreciated and was able to get a look into the real life of working in scientific research (which is highly interesting!). Also I got more than one chance to stroll around Cologne in beautiful weather and as the blogger I am, I took a ton of pictures I want to share with you.

I absolutely loved my time in Cologne. I´ve been there a few times before but only ever for a day or two and it´s so different seeing a city when you actually live there for two months. I guess my liking it so much is partly down to having such a lovely time at my internship (& the gorgeous summer weather). Now looking back it´s funny to see how the seasons actually changed during my stay. I´m really looking forward to going back to Cologne some time in the future, it´s such a lovely city!

Also here´s a tip: If you ever find yourself in Cologne and look for a place to eat, go to Salon Schmitz on Aachener Stra├če. They have the best quiches, salads, cakes and ice cream/sorbets!

  2. Beautiful pictures Lisa! I've been to Cologne once for a weekend and wasn't too impressed to be honest. But mainly the area where I stayed wasn't as nice as the houses in your pictures. I do miss pretty Altbau Houses....I lived in one of those during my life in Leipzig so I'm getting really nostalgic. Hope you're having a great weekend!

    1. Thank you. I´m so very much in love with Altbau houses. They´re just so pretty! I found it quite hard to find really nice areas as well, it took me a while to know where to look.
