Winter Dreams

The season for Christmas markets is finally here. If you´ve been here for a while you will know that they are like my favourite thing around Christmas. I´ve done posts for two years about the ones I went to and I´m bringing Winter Dreams back. They´re honestly still my favourite posts to look back on. I remember the atmosphere and how happy I was at that point and the people I went with. It´s the best thing!

Also from a personal perspective German Christmas markets are still the best ones out there, so I´m giving you the chance to see them.

I was so pleased to see that my local Christmas market was opened on the weekend where we had the first snow for this season. It put me right into the Christmas spirit. Since the weather has gone back to a more autumnal feeling right now, the lights and music and the smell are the only things keeping me in the Christmas spirit. Oh, the smell. Don´t even get me started on this. I wish you could send smells through the internet!

I love this Christmas market especially because it´s got such a nice and homely atmosphere to it. Almost like it´s only held in a very small town which is in no way the case. At my parents home the local Christmas market lasts for one weekend, so a big plus for this one is that it lasts through the whole advent time. It´s actually very convenient for grabbing something yummy to eat as it´s right in the town center. Honestly, nothing gets better than food on Christmas markets!

This Christmas market is truly amazing. I fell in love with it last year already and everytime I see it now, I have a little "aww" moment. The decorations are so pretty and thought out. There´s a big Christmas tree right in the middle with a crib under it that has live animals in it. Tell me that´s not great. The booths offer literally everything from handmade jewelry to bits for your kitchen to amazing food. The best thing are the small carousels and a whole enchanted forest for the children (or just for adults who are still kids inside). It´s definitely in my Top 5 Christmas markets. Although it´s always packed (which I am not a big fan of) I always have such a good time there.

  5. Awh I wish we had something like this in our town! It looks so festive, and the real animals is crazy! We have a few areas that go all out and decorate with tons of lights, but this seems like a great place to get all of your shopping done in one trip.
