Revlon Colorbust Lip Butter Review

After I have bored you so much with all my thoughtful posts, it is now time for a easy-to-read review (not that I didn´t put any thoughts into this one!). When I was in London I couldn´t help myself and just had to buy a lot of beauty products which are having a bit of a hype right now. The Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters are one of these products.

I think the packaging of the lip butters are just really pretty, unique and sleek. I love that they directly portray the color of the lip butter. It´s a nice touch as I don´t have to turn the lipstick to see which color it is. There´s really a big color palette for those lip butters. I opted for the color 027 Juicy Papaya which is a light orange tone and just perfect for summer.

It is well known that the lip butters are quite sheer that´s why I think this color is still appropriate for autumn. It is sheer in the first layer and you almost can´t see a difference to my natural lip color. But it can be layered up a bit to make the color more vibrant, still it isn´t completely opaque which gives it a very natural look, the your-lips-but-better kind of look. Sadly, as it is such a sheer color it only lasts for about two hours with a tiny bit of drinking. The lip butter fades pretty evenly though, so it´s nothing I really have to worry about.

The formular is very nourishing and it almost feels like a lip blam directly after the appliance. It is quite thick and heavy on the lips but after a few minutes I get used to that and it is totally okay. But after those few minutes the formular also gets really sticky and I have to be careful not to look like I want to eat my hair. It almost feels more like a lipgloss just that the appliance is a bit easier with it being in the form of a lipstick. Even though the lip butter can get streaky fairly easily, this is nothing you would notice if you don´t look too close.

I have also noticed that the lip butter really likes to stick to dry patches and the little creases and I sometimes find rests of dried up lip butter when the rest has already faded away. I think that´s down to the thick and heavy formular. After a few hours I do have to re-apply either the lip butter or use another lip balm because my lips keep the sticky feeling but I haven´t found that they dry my lips out.

All in all, these are not what I expected them to be like but I still really like the one I own. It has its downside but it still is a really pretty and sheer color that gives a short but deeply nourishing feeling to my lips and doesn´t dry them out which is essential in autumn and winter. I am still grabbing this lip butter whenever I don´t feel like going for bold lips or totally natural lips. It´s the perfect lip butter for going to school/uni as it doesn´t take much effort and it fades evenly so I don´t have to worry about it all the time and can easily touch it up when I go to the bathroom without taking hours to do so. I just like it.
